17. Jacomyntie Teunisse Van Pelt was born in 1652 in Luyck, , , Netherlands. She died in 1723 in Gravesend, Kings, New York, USA. [Parents]

Jochem, as an infant, came in 1653 with his father and mother from Holland. (1) Jacomyntie, at about the age of eleven, came with her parents from Holland. (2) He took the Oath of Allegiance to Great Brittain in 1687. Per records at Gravesend he had been in this country 34 years at that time, which checks with his arrival date of 1653. He was commissioned an Ensign in Kings County Militia in 1689 and later Captain of the Company. (1)

18. Ferdinando Van Sycklen 1, 2 was born in 1635 in Zeeland, , , Netherlands. He died in 1712 in , , Kings County, N.Y.. Ferdinando married 3 Eva Antonise Van Salee in 1660 in Gravesend, Kings, New York, USA.

19. Eva Antonise Van Salee was born 1 in 1641 in New Amsterdam, , , New Netherland. [Parents]

Ferdinando emigrated in 1652 and settled at first in New Amsterdam and then in Flatlands. He was a member of the Flatlands Dutch Church in 1677, and took the oath of allegiance in said town in 1687. On Dec. 6, 1669, he bought of Anthony Jansen, his father-in-law, plantation-lot No. 29, with the buildings thereon, in Gravesend, as per town records, to which he probably removed.(1) Bergen's book does not show Ferdinando as having a daughter named Ranscha. This datum came from Gulick's genealogy. (2)

Andries Junior, was born and raised in Gravesend where he married Rebecca Van Cleef on Nov. 24, 1693. He moved to a farm in New Utrecht that he bought from Stoffel Romeyn on July 20, 1708. His will was dated Sept. 1, 1728 and probated. Jan. 6, 1729 (rec. p. 34, Lib. 10, N. Y. surr. off). Signed his name "Andries Emans." (1)

Isaac (Gerretse) of New Lotts, was baptised June 16, 1680; he married Catalyna or Catryntje Janse and he died prior to Oct. 31, 1758. Will dated. Dec. 19, 1750; probated Oct. 31, 1758; rec. p. 115, Lib. 21, N. Y. surr. off. Signed his name "Isaac Snedeker." (1)

24. Jan Jansen Van Dyck 1, 2 was born about 1648 in , , , Netherlands. He died about 1736 in New Utrecht, Kings, New York, USA. Jan married Tryntje Thyssen Lahen Van Pelt on 9 May 1673 in New York. [Parents]

25. Tryntje Thyssen Lahen Van Pelt was born about 1648 in , Liege, , Belgium. She died in 1725. [Parents]

Jan Jansen Van Dyck was three or four years old when he arrived in New Amsterdam with his parents in 1652. In 1657 the family moved to New Utrecht. About the age of 39 he took the oath of Allegiance to the British Crown when the oath was administered to all adult males on Long Island. In 1689 he was commissioned a lieutenant in New Utrecht by Lieutenant Governor Jacob Leisler, a controversial figure in American colonial history. He was later commissioned a Captain of a Foot Company of the Militia. Jan prospered as a farmer and land investor and each of his sons received a farm tract upon marriage. (1)

26. Roelof Jansz Verkerk 1, 2 was born on 6 Jun 1654 in Buren, Gelderland, Holland. He died in New Utrech, L. I.. Roelof married Catherine Simons on 7 Aug 1681. [Parents]

27. Catherine Simons was born in 1658 in Brooklyn, Kings, N. Y.. She died after 1718.

Roelof Jansz Verkerk (ca 1654- ) met Catherine Simons (Zijmens), a young lady from Breuckelen whom he married in the Dutch Reformed Church on August 7, 1681. Their second child Annetje was born January 13, 1684 and baptized January 20, 1684. Annetje Verkerk became the wife of Jan Van Dyck on Jun 5, 1706. She was twenty-two and he was twenty-three. (1) Occupied the old stone house lately torn down, on the main road leading from the village of New. Utrecht to Flatbush, on the Flatbush side of the present boundary line between the towns, and on the farm late of Cornelius Bennet. At the date of his marriage he hailed from New Utrecht; in Oct. 1681 on lists of mem. of New Utrecht church.; and in 1698 on census of said town. Took the oath of allegiance in 1687 in Flatbush (2) Considerable time has been spent in trying to identify this Catherine, daughter of one Simon. There was a Simon Haecks living in Bushwick 1675-87, a Simon Lubberse in Flatbush 1675, a Simon Janzen Romeyn whose descendants are not known, and Simon Van Arsdale of Brooklyn (there was no ''Simon'' in New Utrecht in 1675), but for various reasons these all were discarded from consideration as her possible father. 28. Gysbrecht Geisbert Gilbert Lane 1 was born about 1652 in , Liege, , Belgium. He died before 17 May 1727 in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA. Gysbrecht married Jannetje Adriaense Lambersen about 1672 in New Utrecht. [Parents]

29. Jannetje Adriaense Lambersen was born about 1656 in , , Kings County, N.Y.. She died after 1732 in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA.

Gysbrecht Thyssen (who became known both as Geisbert, and also as Gilbert Lane) was born about 1652 and emigrated with his father in 1663. He married, about 1672, Jannetje Adriaense Lambersen. He was a member of the New Utrecht Dutch church in 1677 and a deacon in 1683, but seems not to be among those taking the oath of allegiance to the English Government in 1687. However, he was living there in 1698, when his name appears on the census roll as "Gysbert Tysse," with himself, wife and seven children.... That he had become on Long Island a prosperous agriculturist is evident from the fact that he could make two large purchases of land in Monmouth Co., N. J., in 1709 and 1710. ... On Apr. 23, 1709, he purchased of Rev. Alexander Innes, of Middletown, 460 acres of land in Middletown township. ... This he made his homestead, for he removed to Monmouth Co. in that year. (1)

30. Garret Roelfse Schenck 1, 2, 3, 4 was born 5 on 27 Oct 1671 in Flatlands, NY. He died 6 on 5 Sep 1745 in Pleasant Valley, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA. Garret married Neeltje Coerten Van Voorhies about 1693 in Flatlands, Long Island, NY. [Parents]

31. Neeltje Coerten Van Voorhies was born 1 on 1 Oct 1675 in Flatlands, , , New Netherland. She died 2 on 4 Aug 1750 in Pleasant Valley, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA. [Parents]

According to one source, Garret Roelofse (s. of Roelof Martense), was born Oct. 9, 1661[However, the inscription on his headstone in the Schenck-Couwenhoven Cemetery, Pleasant Valley says he was born on Oct. 27, 1671 (2)] in Flatlands, Long Island. In 1696 he left Flatlands and settled at Pleasant Valley, Monmouth Co., N. J., selling his Flatlands farm to Stephen Coerten (Voorhies). (1) He and his brother Jan's names appear in Monmouth county records soon after 1695. They and their wives were among the first communicants of the Marlboro Dutch church, as now [1915] called. Garret died on the farm known as the Rappleyea Farm at Pleasant Valley in Holmdel township. (2)
